Simplifies in/out of tub - better than expected

We were hesitant to purchase because of the exact measurements and the inability to return this rather costly item. However, we double-checked our measurements (I even called the company to confirm) and took the chance. Now, it's installed in the tub and fits great. The bracket that 'mounts' to the tub is more 'flexible' than we expected and fits around the gentle curve of tub wall quite nicely. The chair is hard plastic but sturdy and larger than it appears in the photos. In fact, it's nearly as wide as the entire bench itself. One downfall: the user has to hold down the lever in between their legs while sliding (or being slid) over into the tub. Definitely a three-handed operation to ensure safety. (One hand on lever, one hand pushing other lever to slide, and another to lift patient's legs over tub wall.) The other downfall: The chair does not sit as high as we expected. The specifications indicate that the chair is 5" higher than the tub wall however it's not quite that high which makes it difficult for the user/patient to stand up. We wish that there was a tub-mounted sliding transfer bench with a cut-out for personal cleaning, but alas, we chose the bench to accommodate the small size of the bathroom and compromised on the cut-out. Overall, a great product. It's sturdy and gets the job done. We'll adapt and find ways to make it work best for us over the next several days. Also important to note was the friendliness of customer support when I called and the timely delivery process. From order to delivery was approximately one week including a holiday weekend.
