Ramps
Choosing The Right Wheelchair Ramps
Ramp Width: This is the easy one, measure the wheelchair or scooter's width or check the manufacturer's instructions on suggested ramp width.
Ramp Length: Optimal configuration is 1' of ramp for 1" of rise, but in most situations there is simply not enough space. We suggest a minimum of one foot of ramp for every 2" of rise (9.6 degrees). It is important to check the wheelchair or manufacturer's limits of ramp angle degrees before you make your decision.
Turning Radius: Keep in mind that sometimes you have to make a turn before getting on the ramp. Make sure you have enough room for the wheelchair or scooter to make the turn.
